Unilever
An Anglo-Dutch company with over 400 products in 14 categories, Unilever is present throughout the world. They are known for for a wide range of food, home, and personal care brands like Skippy peanut butter, Dove soap, Snuggle fabric softener, and Degree antiperspirant. They started introducing metric-sized products in the US quite recently. It looks like a good start, and we can encourage them to continue the trend.

I wanted to send a note of appreciation for your fine products that my family has been using for years. I also wanted to thank you for the recent introduction of metric-sized products in the US market. I have seen 250mL soap dispensers, and 750mL bottles of shampoo. Contrary to popular opinion, the United States consumer is not as hostile to metric products as many businesses here imagine. Many of my conversations with people reveal that the opinion on metric is between indifference and acceptance. Oftentimes, I find that some people ask why we haven't gone metric yet. Most are keenly aware that we are the last country in the world using the English system. Ironically, even the English have discarded the system of measures named after them. Therefore, I hope that Unilever continues this trend of marketing more and more rationally-sized metric products. From: Paul Armstrong
I have long enjoyed many of the Unilever brands from Ben & Jerry's ice cream to Dove soap and of course the ever useful, Vaseline. One thing that has irked me however is the inconsistent measurement system used by your brands. When I pick up a Unilever product, I never know whether it's going to be metric or the old US customary units (although this problem only seems to be an issue when I'm at home, all your products seem to be purely metric overseas). I would dearly love to see Unilever standardize on metric across all your brands as it provides a better customer experience (it's much nicer to compare 2 liters to 750 ml than 2 liters to 8 fl oz for example) and the standardization could be used to improve the efficiency of your manufacturing processes. For those of us who strongly prefer metric (and to make them accessible to the rest of the world), it'd also be wonderful to see your recipe page in metric. Thanks again for the wonderful products (particularly the ice cream!). Paul
