Mazda have an easy (although currently undocumented) way of converting their cars to use metric and have stated that it should be easier in the next year or two.

Let's encourage them to make it easier (maybe even the default) sooner rather than later. Encouraging them to support changing all our road signs to metric so they don't have to invest in this silliness and can have a purely metric interface everywhere is also highly encouraged.
