Oscar Mayer (Kraft Foods) using Non-Metric on packaged meats
I work for a major Eastern US supermarket chain and have noticed recently that Oscar Mayer (Kraft Foods) has stopped putting metric on their pre-packaged meats. (Bacon, Bologna, Etc.) As a person who was taught mostly metric in school in the 70's and 80's, I have come to rely on having metric on products that I purchase. I have chosen not to understand and comprehend our US Customary units because I feel they are useless. I only put up with miles and miles per hour because I have to. When it comes to products I purchase in retail stores, I prefer looking at the metric measurements because that is how I conduct my daily life. But back to Oscar Mayer (Kraft Foods). I think we need to all write them a letter asking them to return to putting metric back on their packages. Contact the FTC and inform them that Oscar Mayer Kraft Foods) is in violation of the FPLA. Even boycott Ocsar Mayer (Kraft Foods) until they make the right changes. Granted this is my opinion but since there are laws in this country on the books, then it is up to us to hold companies accountable for their actions. I have already contacted Oscar Mayer (Kraft Foods) and recieved a pretty standard response. I further contacted the FTC and informed them of Oscar Mayer (Kraft Foods) error in packaging.
Sincerely,
