Listening to Marketplace this morning, mention was made of fixing our current economic shambles by improving infrastructure. Here's the letter I wrote in.

As part of the infrastructure improvement projects suggested by Robert Reich, we should finish metrication.

Having two measurement systems costs our country dearly, and not just in money (lost R&D because of lost Mars probes, time wasted doing conversions every day, having two sets of wrenches in every home; the list goes on). This is the perfect opportunity for us to stop using two systems of measurement and move completely to a single, easier system of measurement; metric.
