KQED Forum

If your local radio station has something similar to KQED Forum and they're talking about the economy, call in with the following question:

The research I've done suggests we lose about 10% of GDP due to using two measurement systems (wasted time doing conversions, mistakes from conversions, lost international business etc) and that our yearly cost probably outweighs the cost of finishing conversion to metric. Can you please speak more on this?

Unfortunately, I just missed out on asking this question of Stephen Levy this morning (took over 30 minutes to get through on the phone), but it makes a fine question for getting the conversation onto the topic of metrication and it's effect on the economy.

If you live in the SF Bay Area, you can call in the next time there's a special on the economy by calling (866) 733 6786
