Computer Manufacturers

Wondering about the viability of 760mm displays, I started looking around at the places that give employee discounts via my employer. Obviously, I'm looking to do comparisons in metric.

  • Lenovo: All specifications for things they make have metric (except for the diagonal measurement of a screen, metric is the primary measure) and US Customary. Information on items not made by them is very slim and in whatever the manufacturer supplied them with. Unfortunately, they don't make their own 760mm display yet.
  • Apple: Most specifications have metric but it is secondary to US Customary.
  • Dell: Most things are primarily metric although there are some sections where there's no metric at all. Everything has US Customary. Used dynamic contrast ratio to make their contrast look better than it is.
  • HP: Not much information at all, almost all in US Customary. They also used nits instead of cd/m^2 which I found odd.
For each of them, I wrote a message thanking them for using metric when they do and encouraging them to use metric where they don't.

They all have feedback forms (Apple, Lenovo, HP, Dell ) so why not provide some feedback today?
