Road Signs
According to the New York Times there are currently plans afoot to replace all our road signs. While the plan currently revolves around better fonts improving the readability, it's an excellent opportunity to replace the old miles/yards/feet distance markings with metric.
Mail your local, state and federal representatives (if you don't know how to contact them, look here ) and the Federal Highway Administration demanding that the new signs be metric signs. Let's not let our public officials pass up the excellent opportunity.
