Our Little Earth

Our Little Earth is a newspaper aimed at 6 - 12 year olds. Given one of their goals is Educating children for a global tomorrow and their example used US customary units, I thought I'd send them the following short note pointing out that a global tomorrow is a metric tomorrow.

I was referred to your site via a post to the Google parents list and find the idea of your paper quite laudable.

One of the stated goals is "Educate your child for a global tomorrow". Given that over 95% of the worlds population uses metric measures (and as a country we are also becoming more metric) I'd like to suggest that you use metric exclusively for your paper.

And the reply:

Thank you for your email! I really do appreciate your feedback. I'll certainly try to point out that there are different measuring systems.

Keep the feedback coming, and please do help me spread the word for Our Little Earth!

I have suggested making it the predominant measurement system.
